What am I using?

Quickly find out what your operating system is and see if you have the proper service pack installed to work with your programs.

Have the computer turned on. You can be in any area of window.

Press and hold down the Microsoft Logo “flag” between the “Ctrl and the “Alt” keys.

While holding down the “flag”, find the “Pause/Break” key and press it once. This is located three keys to the right of the “F12” key about the number keys on a standard keyboard. It may be located some other place on a laptop computer or on other brands of keyboards.

A box will appear called: “System Properties”. Click on the “General” tab if it is not the one that is already open. Under “System” on the right will be listed; the operating system, version information, and which service packs are installed. After noting this information click on the “X” in the top right corner of the display to close this window.
